Why we built this
Since the NSW Department of Education shifted both the OC and Selective tests to a new Cambridge-style assessment, families have struggled to find practice material that matches the actual format. Most "OC books" still teach to the old paper. Most online quizzes are generic. Tutoring is expensive, opaque, and hard to scale at home.
AcePath exists to close that gap. We write practice tests that mirror the real exam structure, time them like the real exam, and explain every answer afterwards — so a child arriving on test day has already met the question style hundreds of times.
Two tools sit alongside the quizzes and do most of the heavy lifting between attempts: a personal mistake notebook that automatically saves every wrong answer, groups them by topic, and serves them back for targeted review; and a spaced-repetition vocabulary builder with curated OC and Selective wordlists that resurfaces each word at the moment it's about to be forgotten. Together they turn weak spots into wins without parents needing to design the revision plan.

How we work
Question writing is led by people who have actually taught these students — primary-school educators and tutors familiar with the NSW Cambridge-style framework. Every question is classified by topic and difficulty, then reviewed before it ships into a quiz pack. When students flag a question, we re-review it.
On the engineering side, AcePath is built as a Laravel application running in Australia on Laravel Cloud, with content delivered via Cloudflare R2 and CloudFront. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — AcePath never sees a card number. Authentication supports both email and Google sign-in.
We treat children's data as a privilege, not a product. We don't sell email lists, we don't use behavioural ad networks, and we keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run a quiz, mark it, and email a result.
